Texas

Though Marie & Michael moved to the mean streets of Brooklyn, NY, in 2007, we always dreamed of getting married under the big sky of the Texas Hill Country. This page is dedicated to all things Central Texas. We hope it also serves as a guide for out-of-town guests looking for fun things to do before and after the wedding.

What better place to start than Route 281, the Hill Country’s centerpiece, which should be knee deep in wildflowers come April. Some highlights include:

  • Pretty Blanco is just a short drive away.
  • For grape connoisseurs, the area is dotted with several wineries, and we hear many are open for tours and tastings.
  • Michael recently went to a dance hall in Albert, a quick detour west of Johnson City, off 290 from 281.
  • Looking to load up on pie and pancakes before the big event? Check out the Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls.

Comments, suggestions, and questions are welcome. We’ll leave you for now with a little tune called Texas Me by San Antonio’s very own royalty, the Sir Douglas Quintet!
